Great Reading Website

I've been meaning to share this site that I found awhile back while I was searching for some reading strategies for some of my struggling readers.  It is readingresource.net . It is such a valuable resource! Check it out!  Happy reading!

Properties of Multiplication and Geometry

I have been crazy ever since I headed back to school.  Between realizing how much more I need to get in before state writing assessment and state testing to practicing fire drills and intruder drills, I am exhausted.  I'm trying to utilize every second of my day to getting in the most amount of information without exhausting my students as well.  This week we are finishing up working on multiplication and in the meantime we've been working on geometry skills.  I created the following two sets to help out that process.  The geometry set I made is intended for those in between moments: lining up for lunch, going to computers, restroom breaks, etc.  It's similar to my place value, time, and money exit and entrance cards.  The multiplication properties set is similar to my addition properties set.  Both can be used in a center.

Great Reading Websites

I am pretty sure that I have already blogged about the site readworks.org.  It is phenomenal for reading lessons and teaching the strategies.  It covers all elementary grade levels.  It may cover above that but I didn't actually pay attention.  Today my colleague showed me http://reading.ecb.org/.  It is called Into the Book.  It has an access for both teachers and students. I've only explored the student site, but I love it so much.  It is great!  It really just needs to be looked at by you to truly understand it!  Please check it out and then leave me a comment about what you think.

Website Change

I changed my classroom website to match my classroom theme.  I have to be honest.  I spend an incredible amount of time on the computer these days.  It's no wonder my neck hurts.  Google Sites is an incredible way to create a free website.  Check mine out! Great site for writing

So I just remembered this really great site I found while I was taking my writing for the elementary school course.  It has a lot of great resources.  It is www.ttms.org.  Let me know what you think of it!
